Melomane

MELOMANE is a cinematic chamber-pop ensemble from New York City blending art-rock energy with lush, orchestral textures. A fixture of the NYC indie scene, Melomane has performed at Joe’s Pub, Mercury Lounge, and BAM Café, toured widely across Europe, and even represented the U.S. in a 2006 embassy-sponsored tour of Russia. Their songs have appeared on Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and HBO’s Real Sex.

Their latest EP, Look Out!, recorded partly in the Pyrenees, finds the band at its most electrifying—combining sharp political lyricism with sweeping arrangements and cinematic flair. As LucidCulture put it, Melomane is “living proof that epic grandeur can be synonymous with great fun.”

In 2022, Jake had a successful run of monthly shows at The Bitter End in New York City and opened for folk icon Gordon Lightfoot on an extensive US tour. Lauren Minear

Originally from Nashville, now living in New York, Lauren Minear is a unique artist with a gift for translating human experience into sound. Minear’s voice—reminiscent of Natalie Merchant, Dido, and Maggie Rogers—delivers raw emotion, while her lyrics, likened to Joni Mitchell and Sarah McLachlan, cut straight to the soul.

Minear’s transformative third album, Boxing Day was released on October 17, 2025 to critical acclaim. Earmilk calls it “an 11-song masterpiece that pulls apart the webbing of motherhood, relationships, and womanhood”. Written in the aftermath of betrayal and self-reflection, the record traces a path through anger, shame, acceptance, and ultimately liberation. With raw confessional lyrics and immersive soundscapes that blend alternative, pop, rock, and folk, Boxing Day is Minear’s most ambitious work to date.

RENÉE CHRISTINE

RENÉE CHRISTINE

Renee Christine moves through the world as an observer. The Americana singer-songwriter and cellist spins tales of misfortune, resilience and Appalachian lore over impassioned string arrangements, finger-picked guitar and percussion.

As a long-distance backpacker with a degree in Parks and Recreation, Renee never planned to pursue music – until a series of unfortunate events inspired something of a songwriting renaissance while living at home after college. Sharing original songs and reimagined covers while accompanying herself on cello, Renee stumbled upon a diverse and dedicated online audience who were in awe of her guttural voice, and moved by the depth of her subject matter.

In the lineage of outspoken artists like Hozier and Hayley Williams, Renee writes what can only be described as modern protest music. “I feel a massive sense of urgency to say what needs to be said,” she says. On her breakthrough singles “Lehigh Valley” and “Turtle Island,” she is candid about the hardships of small town America: Ever since the devils in the White House gutted this place / Well, the bullet and the bottle get around. Raised outside of Philadelphia, PA and now based near Phoenix, AZ, Renee forged relationships with people across the political spectrum as a backpacker, both informing and enforcing her desire to write about what she believes in – from climate justice to calling out abuses of power.

Growing up in a music-loving family, Renee spent her childhood playing cello and guitar, writing poetry, and listening to her mom’s Neil Young, John Gorka and Simon & Garfunkel CDs. On Appalachia, Renee fuses the singer-songwriter sensibility she grew up on with a folk-punk edge. Produced by newfound collaborator Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers, ASHE), the project captures the raw energy of her acoustic performance videos, and heightens the stakes of her sound.

We’re so honored to welcome Renee Christine and her NYC-based quartet to The Grand!

Adam Falcon & Etienne Stadwijk

Adam Falcon (Singer-Songwriter/ Guitarist)

The music of guitarist/singer-songwriter Adam Falcon has an absence of genre, ranging from folk, to rhythm-n-blues, and any-and-all in between. Early in his career, Falcon worked as a sideman with various artists, including singer/actresses Stephanie Mills and Phyllis Hyman. He later accompanied guitarist/singer- songwriter Jonathan Butler on tours opening for Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, and Whitney Houston, and many more. Continuing on, Falcon played guitar for the iconic song stylist, singer/pianist Roberta Flack. Having written for George Benson, and with other songs featured on national television, later in his career Falcon was honored with The Abe Olman Scholarship Award for Songwriting, from The Songwriters Hall of Fame, followed by a semi-finalist position in the International Songwriters Competition, and then a nomination for an Independent Music Award. Since stepping out on his own, he’s opened for The James Cotton Blues Band, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, The Wailers, Ruthie Foster, Danielle Ponder, Anders Osborne, Bob Schneider, Tower of Power and Jim Lauderdale. As you’re reading this today, rest assured something new is coming.

Liam Grant

Liam Grant

Liam Grant, in from Boston, MA, is a New England guitarist with a punk ethos, cut from the American Primitive cloth. The restless guitar explorations, modal epics and driving uptempo rags recall the likes of Grant's pedagogue: Takoma Records and the path that was paved by his forebears John Fahey, Robbie Basho, Peter Walker, Max Ochs and later Glenn Jones, Steffen Basho-Junghans, Jack Rose, and others.

Bridging that past Grant evokes the pith of the landscape where he was raised. Instrumental memoirs and ruminations on the banks of the Merrimack River. Amoskeag and the place where the waters flow around it. Salmon tails up the falls and black pearls from the river. The exodus to Stratton-Eustis and the last night on Dead River before the great flood.
